Jessica Lynn Kearney, a resident of New Fairfield, CT and previously of Wappingers Falls, NY, Mohegan Lake, NY and White Plains, NY, passed away on March 9, 2022. She was 45.
Jessica was born on July 16, 1976, the daughter of James and Francine (Marzocchi) Kearney. She attended Roy C. Ketcham High School and Dutchess Community College. For over 20 years, Jess worked for Raymour and Flanigan and was recently working in customer service for JRS Pharma in Patterson, NY.
Jess was married to the love of her life, Michael Day, who survives at home.
She loved spending time with her family and friends and listening to music.
Jess had the most contagious laugh and smile. It didn't just light up a room, it lit up a corner of the world. She was a rare breed of human, one in zillion. She had the most enormous and giving heart. "Kid" as she was called affectionately by her dad, always put her family and friends needs before her own. Jessie was an angel on earth and did not need to gain her wings when she departed; she already had them. Jess had a plethora of best friends and innumerable friends, yet she made every person she encountered in her life feel special. Nicknamed "27-dresses" by some of her friends for all the weddings and events she partook in was a daughter, wife, family member, best friend, sister-in-law, aunt of three, godmother of three, coworker and confidante. She loved that she was honorarily adopted by other families. Jess had a knack for making you see the best in challenging situations, giving advice and guidance, and bringing joy and laughter into just about every conversation. Even during her last days, she was worried about others.
Jessica is survived by her husband Michael Day; father James Kearney; brother Ryan Kearney; aunt Christine Woodtke and husband Frank; aunt Patty Martinik and husband Steve; cousins Troy and Jeremy Woodtke and their spouses; and brother and sister-in-law, Walter Day and his wife Nancy and their children. She was predeceased by her mother Francine "Franny" Kearney and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jessica, Babe, Rumpshaker, Jek, Jessie, Jessikita, Jess, Kid, 27 Dresses made every person she met a better person. The world was a far better place because of her. Her loss created laughter, tears, smiles, and memories, and not sadness and grief. Thank you for being our friend.
Calling hours will be Saturday March 19, 2022, from 9am to 12 Noon at the McHoul Funeral Inc. 895 Route 82. Hopewell Junction, NY. A service will take place in the funeral home at 12 noon.
