Obituary

Jessie Gagliardo, 89, a resident of Hopewell Junction for three years and formerly of Peekskill, died on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on February 18, 1925, she was the daughter of Dominick and Concetta Valenti Borrello. Jessie was a seamstress who loved sewing, crocheting, cooking and crafts. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church and an honorary member of the Actors Conservatory Theater.

On July 25, 1948 at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, Jessie married Joseph Gagliardo who predeceased her on September 19, 1979. She is survived by her daughters, Angela Murawski and her husband Ken, Concetta Najda, and Jessica Picard and her husband Joe; her grandchildren, Bryan, Krystina, J.J., Joanna, Joe and Olivia; and her sisters, Lucy Borrello and Mary Ricci. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jessie was predeceased by her son-in-law, John Najda.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
