Jie Wang, 72, of Patterson, died on April 1, 2026 at Putnam Hospital Center.

Born in Tianjin, China, on November 16, 1953, he was the son of the late Jin Rong Wang and Ying Li Wang. On February 27, 1989, in Manhattan, Jie married Angela Qian, who survives at home.

Jie was an incredible father who lived with a singular focus: his family. He always put his children first, often working multiple jobs and grueling hours to ensure they had everything they needed. His work ethic was matched only by his warmth. He was a man of simple pleasures-whether it was the competitive spirit he found swimming in high school or the playful way he always joked with those around him. He truly came alive when he was with people; nothing brought him more fulfillment than the simple joy of sharing a meal, a drink, and a laugh in good company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Wang; his son, Justin Wang and his wife Jia Ma; his grandson, Jaiden Wang; his sister, Lisa Wang and her husband Sai Yu; his brother, Sui Xheng Wang; his sister, Feng Yi Wang; and four nieces and nephews.
