Joan Coffey, a local resident for over 50 years and formerly of Peekskill, died at home on Monday, December 31, 2012. She was 72.
Born in Queens on August 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Stewart Lynch. On August 12, 1960, she married George J. Coffey in Peekskill. Mr. Coffey survives at home.
Joan spent her life taking care of children, including those in her own family and others as well. She truly loved spending time with kids and cherished every moment.
In addition to her husband, Joan is also survived by four daughters, Patricia Hayden & her husband Charles of Fishkill, Deborah Coffey of Wappingers Falls, Traci Pomarico & her partner Eric Ganzer of Pine Bush, and Barbara Kemp & her partner Mike Minard of Poughkeepsie; eight grandchildren, Casey, Brianne & Krista Hayden, Andrea & Ryann Coffey, Cody Pomarico, and Christopher & Dale Kemp; her brother, John Lynch & his wife Norma of Massachusetts; her very dear friend, Marybeth Santoro of Wappingers Falls; and several nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 3rd at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home immediately following calling hours at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
