Obituary

Joan Marie Perillo, a local area resident for more than 50 years and formerly of Ardsley, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park, NY. She was 83.

Daughter of the late George and Ethel (Bassett) Feroleto, she was born in Port Chester, NY on April 4, 1941. Joanie grew up in Connecticut before her family eventually relocated to Westchester County, NY.

She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her three children, in addition she was also an employee of Mid-Hudson Savings Bank in Fishkill. At the time of her retirement, Joan was an administrative clerk for the Mid-Hudson Medical Group in Fishkill.

As a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, Joanie also participated in the senior activities groups in the Town of Fishkill. She enjoyed painting and always loved gathering with family and friends, especially when playing cards or attending penny socials and tag sales. She was a strong advocate for animal rights as well.

On August 25, 1962, Joan married Joseph J. Perillo, Sr. at St. John Church in White Plains, NY. She was predeceased by her husband on February 9, 1977.

Survivors include her son, Joseph J. Perillo, Jr. and his wife Paula of Wallkill, NY; her daughter, Sabrina M. Perillo Wells and her fiancé Michael A. Trama of Fishkill, NY; her five grandchildren: Daniel S. Wells, Morgan M. Wells, Dean J. Perillo, Samuel J. Perillo, and Roseanna M. Perillo; as well as many other loving relatives & lifetime friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joanie was also predeceased by her daughter, Deana M. Perillo (April 22, 2021); and her two sisters, Roseann and Teresa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 30 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
