J. Carol Sayres passed away on April 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88. She was born in Peekskill, NY on March 2, 1936 to the late Albert W. Nelson III and Anna (Topaceski) Nelson. She married her beloved husband W. Joseph Sayres, Jr. on June 29, 1958 in Peekskill, NY. Joe survives at home.

Carol was a very family oriented person and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all affectionately referred to her as "Grammy." She loved going to estate sales and collecting antiques.

In addition to her beloved husband Joe, Carol is survived by her children Carol Gray of Cold Spring, and Gregg Sayres of Cold Spring; her grandchildren: Joseph, Jason, and Anna Gray, and Shaun, Ryan, Amanda and Amber Sayres; her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Lucas, Logan, Gabriel, Brianna, Harper and Hannah; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol was predeceased by her son Glenn A. Sayres in 2017, and her sisters: Barbara King of Buchanan, Alberta Nelson of Cold Spring, and Alice McCaffrey of Wisconsin.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday April 7, 2024 from 2-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday April 8, 2024 at 11 am at Hillside Cemetery 1033 Oregon Rd. Cortlandt, NY.
