WAPPINGERS FALLS - Joann Blaikie, 66, an area resident since 1996 and formerly of Yonkers, died unexpectedly on May 23, 2017 at her home.

Joann was born on September 21, 1950 in Yonkers. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

On May 31, 1980 in Yonkers, Joann married Edward T. Blaikie who predeceased her on January 29, 2016. She is survived by her children, Jason Vargas, Diana Aguilar and her husband Adrian, and Shannon Blaikie; her grandchildren, Jason Vargas Jr., Jaelyn Vargas, Anthony Aguilar and Jonathan Aguilar; her great-grandson, Jaden Fernandez; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by the service at 8pm.
