Joan Monaco, 82, an area resident since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, died on January 25, 2013 at home.
Born in England, she was the daughter of the late David and Maria Reed Smith. Her husband, John Robert Monaco, predeceased her on June 7, 1983. Joan had been employed in the cafeteria at IBM until her retirement.
Joan is survived by her children, John Robert Monaco, Debra Ann Monaco, Lisa Marie Ogden, and Kathleen Sidote and her husband Gary; her grandchildren, Michael C. Ogden and Kaitlin Tanda; her great granddaughter, Ana Tanda; her brother in-law, Robert Monaco and his wife Annmarie; her sisters, Winifred Ralphs and Olive Gibson; her niece, Karen Howell; her nephew, Paul Howell; and several other nieces and nephews.
