Dearest Friends,
The family of Joanne Casale (née Ames), 65, announces her passing on Sunday December 15th, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
A Requiem Mass (Missa defunctorum) will be held at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Hopewell Jct. on Thursday, December 19th at 10:00 AM. The family will gather at Gate of Heaven Cloisters columbarium in Hawthorne, N.Y. (Westchester) on Saturday, December 21th at 11:00 AM for inurnment.
Joanne was born in Manhattan, N.Y. the second of three children of Lawrence and Ann Ames. She married Nicholas B. Casale at St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Bronx, N.Y. on April 23, 1976. They celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Her husband Nicholas, beloved daughter Jennifer of Hopewell Jct., and son Nicholas A. of Baldwin N.Y., Jennifer’s husband Michael Confield and grandchildren Logan and Aiden, her brother, Lawrence Ames, and sister, Kathleen Sandor. survive Joanne. Joanne’s daughter Victoria A. Casale predeceased her in 2018.
The family will accept condolence at their Dutchess County home (41 Athenian Ln., Hopewell Jct., N.Y.) following the Requiem Mass and after inurnment.
Aware of the winter weather and travel burdens the family alternatively recommends sharing memories and bereavement via a sympathy or Mass (religious) card.
In lieu if flowers a charitable donation in Joanne’s memory can be directed to the Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital, which provides quality of life care for terminally ill inpatients.
