Joanne Marie Horton, 68, a resident of LaGrangeville since 1975 and formerly of Harwinton, CT, died peacefully on September 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New Britain, CT on December 23, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Frank Eric and Corrine (Masi) Marchetti. Jobie graduated from UConn in 1975 with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She had worked as a Veterinary Technician for 49 years until her retirement in 2024. During her career, she was employed by the Pine Plains Veterinary Hospital, Hudson Highlands Veterinary Hospital Dr. Dave Hammond, and Hopewell Animal Hospital. Jobie was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

On July 12, 1975 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton, CT, Jobie married the love of her life, Ricky Allen Horton, who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Heather Kading; her son, Ricky Horton Jr. and his wife Janiece; her grandchildren, Chase, Owen and Avery Kading, Corrine and Julius Horton; her siblings and their spouses, Nancy and Jerry Curtiss, Frank and Nancy Marchetti, Charles and Doreen Marchetti; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Annabelle Horton.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
