Joanne Manganelli, a Town of Fishkill resident since 2005, died at home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer for two years. She was 65.
Born in New Rochelle on July 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rasmussen Bavosa. On December 27, 1969, she married Paul B. Manganelli in New Rochelle. After living in Yonkers, Joanne and Paul moved to Wappingers Falls in 1979, where they raised their family.
From the age of 18, Joanne worked as a hairdresser, a job she truly loved. She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, enjoyed bowling and loved time spent in Myrtle Beach. Above all else, she cherished being a grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Paul at home; her son, John Paul Manganelli of Hopewell Junction; her daughter, Melissa A. Romagnoli & her husband Joseph of Brewster; her grandson, Ryan T. Romagnoli of Brewster; her siblings John Bavosa & his wife Deborah of Ardsley, Gail McNamara of Bonita Springs, FL, and Robert Bavosa & his wife Angela of New Rochelle; also several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill.
