POUGHKEEPSIE-Joanne Marie Gunn Meckelvaney, 64, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Charleston, SC, died at Saint Francis Hospital on Monday, August 22, 2011.
Born in Poughkeepsie on January 20, 1947, she was the daughter of Virginia Mastrovito Gunn and the late Edward J. Gunn. On July 20, 1990 she married Tonny Meckelvaney who resides in Charleston, SC.
Joanne loved the snow fall, Christmas trees, watching the ripples on the lake, hummingbirds, flowers, family and a good hug. She is survived by her son, Mark Christopher and his wife Susan, her daughter, Jeneen "Nikki" Haldeman and her husband Bob, and her grandchildren, Quinn, Elizabeth, and Noah. Her son, Matt Christopher, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
She is also survived by her brothers: Edward, Michael, Thomas, William, and Richard Gunn and her sisters: Donna Fischer, Jeanette Gunn, Denise Totten, Maureen Sears, Marie Greaves, Elisa Merendino, and Andrea Savino and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother James and her grandson Robert.

Calling hours for Joanne and her son, Matt, will be held on Saturday from 10am to 1pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by the funeral service at 1pm.
