Johanna Mabel Ruiz, 43, passed away at home on April 9, 2022. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on October 11, 1978 to Victor and Maria (Calle) Ruiz. Johanna grew up in Yonkers, NY. Prior to moving to Beacon in 2018, she also lived in Wappingers Falls and Poughkeepsie.
Johanna inherited the love of and talent for cooking from her father. She loved dancing to Latin music, watching "time-period" shows and movies, and she loved the color purple. Johanna was very proud of her Ecuadorian heritage.
She felt most at home in the city. She was always well dressed and had her makeup done beautifully, and her family describes her as being "the life of the party."
Above all else, her four children meant the world to her and were her everything. She defended them passionately and fiercely and would have done anything for them.
Johanna is survived by her four children: Kiara, Messiah, Kaylah, and Kaitleen Dixon; her grandson, Novah Jones; her mother Maria Ruiz; her sister Karla Ruiz; brother Ronald Ruiz (Cindy); nieces: Allyson and Arianna Ruiz; and nephew Elijah Garcia-Ruiz; as well as many other loving relatives & friends.
Johanna was pre-deceased by her father Victor Ruiz, as well as an infant sister Carla N. Ruiz.
