John L. Arnott, 58, a resident of Dover Plains for 16 years and formerly of Yonkers and the Bronx, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Sharon Hospital.
Born in the Bronx on January 27, 1953, he was the son of Lorraine Stillwell Girolamo of Dover Plains and the late George Arnott. He was employed as a Firefighter for the FDNY for 23 years until his retirement in 1999. John was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his sister, Lorraine Riscinti of River Vale, New Jersey; his brother Peter Girolamo of Carmel, New York; his niece, Jesse; and his three nephews, Matthew, Marc and Peter Joseph (PJ).
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
