Born in NYC on August 13, 1953 to Vincent and Edith (O'Brien) Ashton, John was a loving and extremely dedicated husband, father, PopPop, brother and friend. John leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Annmarie Ashton, daughter Dianna Ciulla (Mike), son John Jr. (Debra), and grandchildren Angelina, Gabriella, Kingsley and Michael.
A former Resident Building manager in Manhattan (32BJSEIU), John was a highly skilled, intelligent individual. He could accomplish whatever he set his mind to. More often than not, he was helping a neighbor, friend or relative. He put others before himself, lending his talent, tools and hands whenever or wherever needed. John was a favorite uncle, opening his home and heart to all who drew near. He was a charming, avid storyteller to no ones harm. He was an accomplished homemade chef creating a meal second to none, from hot dogs to chateaubriand. Wherever the party was, you could depend on John to take over the stove or the grill to all's delight. His unconditional and immeasurable love will live in our hearts forever.
John was a member of St. Mary's Church in Fishkill, the New Hamburg Yacht Club, and former NY Building Managers Association.
