Obituary

John Brookhouse, 84, a resident of Lagrangeville for 16 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on June 21, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Manhattan on April 11, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (DeCicco) Brookhouse. On December 14, 1957 in Manhattan, he married Lucille Comparone who survives at home.

John proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was employed in the security department at Chase Bank in Manhattan for 25 years until his retirement in 1991. He was lifelong Yankees fan.

In addition to his wife of almost 56 years, John is survived by his children, Janice Rodriguez and her husband Jose of LaGrange and John Brookhouse and his wife Mayra of Carmel; his grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandria, Alyssa, John IV, and Nicole Linda; and his siblings, Virginia Cuttitta, Alice Thrush, and Frances LoCicero. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Linda Ann Brookhouse in 1989 and his sister, Anna Brookhouse.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Kateri Church in LaGrangeville followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx with military honors. For online condolences, please visit www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
