Obituary

John Bruce Gustin, 62, a lifelong resident of Poughquag, died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Poughkeepsie on November 11, 1953, he was the son of the late Alvin and Grace (Algie) Gustin. Bruce loved to play chess, and is known for inventing and patenting the game, Millennium Chess (www.millenniumchess.com).

Bruce is survived by his siblings, James Gustin and his wife Rosemary of Springhill, FL, Elizabeth Whitney of Springhill, FL, and Richard Gustin and his wife Leigh Ann of Wappingers; his nephews and nieces, Bryan and Tracy Gustin of Brooksville, FL, Aaron Adams of VT, and Brittany and Mike Bagarozzi of Hopewell Junction; his great-nieces, Danika and Mya Gustin; his great-nephews, Michael, Joseph, and Hunter Bagarozzi; and his cousins especially, Eric and Cathy Gustin and Karl and Christy Gustin. Bruce also leaves behind his faithful dog, Lillian, who has been his companion for many years. He was also predeceased by his sister, Dale-Marie Gustin in 1990.

A Celebration of Bruce's Life will be celebrated on Saturday from 1 – 6 pm at Last Chance Bar and Restaurant, 946 Route 376, Wappingers Falls.
