Obituary

John B. Busacca, Jr., 72, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie for 38 years and formerly of Staten Island, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn on September 28, 1939, he was the son of John B. Busacca Sr. and Jeanne Vicino. John was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church and a member of St. Martin de Porres #7551, Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and was as passionate about roses as he was Notre Dame Football and all things Sicilian. A trained chef, he enjoyed showing off his culinary skills as much as he enjoyed feeding his grandchildren excessively. He loved his bride of nearly 50 years and kept his wedding picture readily available to show off at a moment's notice.

On February 10, 1962 at St. Sebastian's Church in Queens, John married Eileen Keown who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Elizabeth and David Dziminowicz of Boynton Beach, FL, Christine and Patrick Manning of Hopewell Junction, John and Jeanny Busacca of Orlando, FL and Richard Busacca of Boca Raton, FL; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Andrew, Amanda, Claudia and Johnny.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30am at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
