John Carlisle-Nicholas, lovingly known as "Jack," passed away peacefully at home, in Pleasant Valley, NY, on June 30, 2026, at the age of 67. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and unconditional love that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

John was the devoted husband of 28 years to his beloved wife, Colleen Gail Carlisle-Nicholas, and a proud and loving father to his cherished daughter, Sydney Ann Carlisle Nicholas. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his loving mother, Nancy Nicholas of Ooltewah, TN (formerly of Yonkers, NY); his brother, Brian J Nicholas and his wife, Michele of Garden City, NY; his sister, Nancy Ann Kellogg and her husband, Chris of Ooltewah, TN; his sister, Lisa Cardillo and her husband, Bob of North Port, FL; as well as his step-mother Linda Nicholas of Hopewell Jct., NY; step-sister Deirdre Condon and her husband Bill of Wilmington, NC; and step-brother Derek Kurtz and his wife Jennifer of Oradell, NJ, and their families. John was predeceased by his father, John F Nicholas Jr.

John was a proud uncle and is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Michael J. Nicholas, Brian R. Nicholas, Antoinette E. Nicholas, Krys M. Kircher, Victoria L. Richeson and Daniel J. Richeson.

John was born and raised in Yonkers, NY, and graduated from Yonkers High School. John worked for many years in photography repair and as office manager at MAC Group in Elmsford.

John found a home at Ace Endico Corporation in Brewster for the past 18 years starting in maintenance and working his way up to IT.

John was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a friend to everyone he met. He possessed a rare gift for making people feel welcome and valued. His warm smile, gentle spirit, and wonderful sense of humor could brighten even the darkest day. He always had an encouraging word to offer and was the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He had a deep love of family and delighted in sharing cherished family stories. John carefully preserved family photographs, understanding their importance in keeping memories alive for future generations.

A talented craftsman, John enjoyed building electric guitars and had a lifelong passion for music. He was also an avid dirt bike enthusiast and motocross racer, embracing adventure and the thrill of the ride. Whether working with his hands, enjoying music, or spending time with loved ones, John approached life with enthusiasm, compassion, humor and joy.

Those who knew John will remember his generous heart, his unwavering kindness, and the genuine love he showed to everyone. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, lift their spirits, and remind them that they mattered.

One of John's favorite songs was "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles-a fitting reflection of the way he lived his life. He believed in the power of love, family, friendship, and simple acts of kindness, and he shared those gifts freely with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John's memory will be treasured always. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched will remain with us forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 1 pm to 4 pm at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate John's life, share memories, and honor the love and joy he brought to so many.
