John William Carlson, a lifelong local area resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 64.

Son of the late Carl Carlson and Mary Knapp, he was born in Sleepy Hollow on December 25, 1956. John worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies included deer hunting and camping. He also enjoyed watching television.

Survivors include his longtime partner, Debra Walsh; his children, Christian Larkin, John Carlson, and Dana Carlson; his granddaughters, Kelsey and McKayla; his siblings, Sheila, Eileen, Kevin, and Jimmy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.

He was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Elsie and brothers Bubby, Robert, and Tommy.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 9 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill.
