Wappingers Falls - John J. Carr, 73, an area resident since 1974 and formerly of the Bronx, died on January 26, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the South Bronx on July 3, 1945, he was the son of John and Veronica Carr. John proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a Lineman with Con Edison for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Council #4065, Knights of Columbus.

John was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette (Timoney) Carr on May 15, 1986. He is survived by his sons and their wives, John and Jaime Carr of Olathe, KS and Matthew and Kelley Carr of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Sydney, Kylie, Jack, Colin and Ashley; his sisters, Ann Monnelly, Constance Mulqueen and Joan Madden; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
