HOPEWELL JUNCTION – John J. "JJ" Cleary, 68, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.

Born on May 31, 1947, he was the son of the late James John and Charlotte (Daley) Cleary. He had been employed for over 20 years as a Corrections Officer at the Matawan Correctional Facility followed by employment at the Beekman Country Club in Hopewell Junction and Severn Trent in Beacon.

JJ is survived by his wife, Diane (Deppen) Cleary Lemme; his son, Jared Cleary and his fiancée Heather Pender; his granddaughter, Anyiah; his step-children, Jason and Michelle Lemme; and his step-grandson, Merrick.

JJ enjoyed spending time at their house in Myrtle Beach, SC. Along with his wife, he founded the Loyal Allies Motorcycle Club and was a member of the Lost Wheels Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed fishing, and liked drawing, sketching, and painting under his alias, "Rubin Trent".

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
