John DeMichiel, 87, of Poughquag , NY, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025.

Born on September 5, 1937, to John and Yolanda DeMichiel in Manhattan, NY, John lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Iona College and worked for Texaco in Beacon, NY.

John was a devoted parishioner of St. Denis Church and had made Poughquag his home for the past 24 years.

John married his beloved wife, Joanne, on October 5, 1968, at St. Margaret's Church in the Bronx, NY. Joanne was his partner in life until her passing, and he is now reunited with her in peace.

John is survived by his daughter, Amy Conroy, and her husband, Brian; his son, Jon DeMichiel, and his wife, Kate; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Sean, Dylan, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Robert DeMichiel, and his wife, Cathy, and his sister-in-law Madeleine DeMichiel as well as many nieces and nephews.

An avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, John enjoyed nothing more than sharing time with his family, particularly at the Rhode Island beaches. He was a passionate reader who always had a book in hand, with James Patterson being his favorite author. John also had a love for good food and relished every moment spent around the dining table with his loved ones.

John was predeceased by his wife Joanne and his brother Walter DeMichiel. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who knew him

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. Interment to follow at St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY
