John Robert Ericsson passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 75.
Born in the Bronx on January 25, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Dorothea (Walsh) Ericsson. John graduated from St. Simon Stock Elementary School and Mount St. Michael Academy and took courses at Iona College.
In 1969, he was inducted into the U.S. Army, where he served on active duty until 1971. John continued his military service as a reservist until 1975. He worked briefly at Merrill Lynch and then became a commodities broker for the New York Cotton Exchange. After his marriage, he resided in Howell, NJ until the present.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Snyder & her husband Jeffrey of Manahawkin, NJ; his sister, Joan Ericsson of Fishkill, NY; his uncle, Charles Walsh of Stony Point, NY; as well as many cousins.
John will be remembered most for his honesty, integrity, and great sense of humor.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 12 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
