John Raefel Fuentes, Jr., 65, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie since 1999 and formerly of the Bronx, died suddenly on May 1, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on July 3, 1957 in Brooklyn, he was the son of John R. Fuentes, Sr. and Angela Villanueva. John had been employed as a bus operator for NYC Transit Authority. John loved Salsa music and driving classic cars. He believed that when people need help, it's important to be selective because too much help makes people weak.

On May 8, 2009 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, John married the love of his life, Madeline Diaz.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 5:30pm.
