John (Hachig) Gezirjian, 81, of East Branch Road, Patterson, NY, formerly of Yonkers, NY and Milford, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Danbury Hospital.
Born January 24, 1933 in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Kourken and Takouhi Gezirjian.
Family members surviving are his brother, Edward Gezirjian of Patterson, NY, two sisters, Ann Graham and Rose Gezirjian both of Kane, PA, his sister-in-law Beatrice Gezirjian of Scarsdale, NY, a niece, Michele Bortlik (Joel), two great nephews, Logan and Kenton Bortlik all of Fishkill, NY, a nephew, Kris Graham (Cynda) of Kane, PA, two great nieces, Brooke Creamer (Jonathan) and Nia Brown and her three children, all of Kane, PA, and one cousin in Argentina, South America, Maria DeAranus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kourken and Takouhi and his brother Anthony Gezirjian.
The family said of him, "John was a highly intelligent man with a wealth of knowledge which he shared in a beneficial way with many who knew him. He was also generous, caring, and kind towards his family and friends, putting others ahead of himself. In fact, he was a tremendous help as one of the caregivers for his mother, who was bedridden for ten years."
