Obituary

MILLBROOK – John L. Giandalone, 87, a resident of Millbrook since 2005 and formerly of Sebastian, FL and Southbury, CT, died on Friday, September 21, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in the Bronx on April 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Louis and Josephine Giandalone. On March 25, 1951 in the Bronx, he married Vincenza Ann Sanzaro, who predeceased him on January 12, 2008.

John proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed by the State of Connecticut as a care provider at the Southbury Training School for 10 years until his retirement in 1987. He owned and operated Highland Farms in Yonkers and loved woodworking.

John is survived by his children, John L. Giandalone , Jr. and his wife Mary of West Chesterfield, NH, Lori Hodgkins and her husband Brud of Millbrook, Thomas Giandalone of Hopewell Junction, Alfia Heintz of Millbrook, and Lianne Faughn of Florida; his 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 4 pm and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at Valley Bible Fellowship Church, 1875 Clove Road, LaGrangeville followed by interment in Clove Cemetery with military honors.
