Obituary

John M. Hoff, Jr., 63, an area resident since 1980, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012.
Born in Manhattan on January 8, 1949, he was the son of Isabella Kelly Hoff and the late John M. Hoff, Sr. John retired as the Vice President of Procurement and Real Estate for the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and was employed at NYPA for more than 30 years. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He was an active member of Planet Fitness and a former member of the YMCA for many years. He also coached AAU and CYO Basketball. John loved sports especially basketball, football, and baseball. He was an avid New York Knicks basketball fan. John was always known for a friendly, warm smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by the many family and friends he leaves behind.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosemary Hoff, and his children, Christina Hoff of Wappingers Falls, Shaun Hoff of Hopewell Junction and Kelley-Anne Hoff of Fishkill; his brothers, Stephen Hoff of Rockland County and Timothy Hoff and his wife Sharon of Albany; his sister, Nancy Moro and her husband Pete of Rockland County; his brother-in-law, Gary Fischer of Rockland County; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and his sister, Linda Fischer.
Calling hours will be held on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
