John Hogan, 59, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 31 years and formerly of Staten Island, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born on Staten Island, John was the son of James and Katherine Hogan.
A graduate of Monsignor Farrel High School, John attended the College of Staten Island. A systems analyst, he worked for vaious brokerage houses on Wall St. until starting his own company, John Hogan Associates. John was a dedicated worker, avid music lover, consumate griller, but more than anything he loved his family. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On September 3, 1978 at St. Peter’s Church in Staten Island, John married Ellen Tighe who survives at home. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, John and his wife Nicole of Oswego, Matthew of Hopewell Junction, Scott and his wife Allyson of Wappingers Falls, Liam of Hopewell Junction, his granddaughter, Josephine Hogan; his brother, James Hogan and his wife Maria; sister, Mary Gambardella and her husband Albert and sister Joanne Haley and her husband Michael plus many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters Johanna Hogan, Kathy Senk and Eileen Hogan.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12pm at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
