WAPPINGERS FALLS - John Francis Hollingsworth, age 75, passed away on September 3, 2022 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He was born on October 12, 1946 to parents John and Theresa Hollingsworth in Englewood, NJ.

John graduated from Marist College in 1968 with a degree in Mathematics. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was trained and became a Naval Pilot at the San Diego Naval Base. For 28 years, John was employed at IBM as a corporate pilot.

He was a Lifetime Member of the Chelsea Yacht Club and loved sailing along the Long Island Sound with his fellow Chelsea friends visiting the many yacht clubs along the way with Block Island and Newport, RI being the main destination points. John enjoyed hunting hunting deer, elk, and moose, working on his cars, was a very knowledgeable collector of antiques, and sure loved those duck decoys.

John is survived by his nephew Kevin Ahrens of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by his longtime partner Sally LeDioyt of Fishkill, NY, along with her son Jeff LeDioyt & his wife Michelle, and their children Sadie, Tyler, and Jordan.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 24 at First Reformed Church of Fishkill, 1153 Main Street, Fishkill, with Rev. Amy Nyland officiating. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
