John Kravic's Obituary
STORMVILLE - John M. Kravic, Sr., 77, a lifelong area resident, passed away on October 14, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Katonah on October 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Marcus and Agnes (Vogler) Kravic. John proudly served in the US Air Force. On August 19, 1977 in Princeton, NJ, John married Marie Ferguson Kravic who predeceased him on November 1, 2009.
John was self-employed as the owner of J & B Stables. In 1982, he co-founded Southern Dutchess Horse and Pony Association (SDHPA). He was a life member of the Stormville Fire Company.
John is survived by his children, Athena Conrad of Hopewell Junction, Jackie Torino of Pleasant Valley, Andrew Kravic of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Brian Kravic of Poughkeepsie; his daughter-in-law, Jeannette Kravic of Milan; and his grandchildren, John M. Kravic III, James Kravic, Johanna Kravic, Logan Torino, and Jason Gontz. He was also predeceased by his son, John M. Kravic, Jr. on April 25, 2015.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors. Burial will be private at St. Denis Cemetery.
