FISHKILL – John Lauri, 96, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on May 28, 2022.
Born in Cava, Italy on March 5, 1926, he was the son of Angelo and Amalia (Vendetti) Lauri. John proudly served our country in the US Army during World War II, and had been employed as a computer operator for IBM. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus in Wappingers Falls. John enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
On September 16, 1951 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, John married the love of his life, Connie Risbello, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Denise and Dave Wood, Debbie and Jack Lippolis, Donna and Keith Williams; his grandchildren, Kyle and Jen Wood, Erik and Vanessa Wood, Scott and Theresa Terralavoro, Jill Terralavoro, Jason and Kate Williams, Lauri and Justin Wisniewski, John and Lynell Williams; and his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Colleen, Megan, Cara, Alison, Jonathan, Madison, Kelly, Cassandra, Matthew and Abigail
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
