John Anthony Lisella, 68, of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, on October 12, 2025.
Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, on January 19, 1957, he was the 3rd of 11 children born to the late John J. and Audrey (Gabel) Lisella. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Mt. Vernon; St. Francis Seminary High School in Andover, MA, and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He then received his nursing degree and spent his career full-heartedly caring for many patients at several nursing/rehab centers, including Putnam Nursing and Rehab where he retired in 2022.
John is survived by his two children, Kristopher and Kayleigh Lisella, as well as his step-children, John Kenneth Paras and Kristine Paras; and 3 grandchildren. John is also survived by his wife Eloisa Lisella, and her father, Efren Paras, Sr.; her siblings, Efren Paras, Maria (Tom) Barrett, and Eliza Elsbree; along with nieces, Gabrielle Ann Elsbre and Samanta Barrett and her children, Paxton Blake, Samira Jade, and Stellar Luna Pentinio .
John is also survived by his nine siblings; Joseph (Nicolette), Gerard (Bonnie), Mary Daniele, Audrey Iscaro , Christina, Louis ( Cinzia ), Paul (Yvonne), Frances (Richard) Dunn, and Anthony (ToniMarie), as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great niece and many cousins. He was predeceased by his sister (#8), Theresa Merck Perez this past May, as well as nieces Gina Daniele and Rebecca Schindler, and nephews Richard Dunn, Jr. and Gregory Lisella.
Besides his love for family and his catholic faith, John also enjoyed cooking, horseback riding, and years of fun-filled summers at Splashdown with Kris and Kayleigh , who were his sunrise and sunset, and everything in between. He carries his love for them into his eternal life. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and many friends.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6th at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
