FISHKILL, NY- John R. Mascia, 79, an area resident for over 26 years, passed away at his daughters' home surrounded by his family on November 7, 2024. He previously lived in the Bronx, NY.

Born in the Bronx, NY on August 2, 1945, John was the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Cignarella) Mascia. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. John retired as Foreman from the New York City Department of Sanitation after 20 years of service. He owned and operated his own insulation companies, Joy Insulation and Nationwide Insulation, for many years.

On February 17, 1968 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, he married Joyce (Barbetto) Mascia who survives at home after 56 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, John Mascia and his wife Michelle of Hopewell Junction, NY; his daughter, Melissa Mascia and her husband Joseph Alongi of Greenwich, CT; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Johnny, Anthony, Brooke, and Robert; his sisters, Sue D'Iorio, Maryann Donohue, and Lori Viviano and her husband Joe; his sisters-in-law, Cahterine Guigliano and Elise Quattrucci and her husband Jerry; and man nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY on Sunday, November 10th from 2- 6 pm and Monday, November 11th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered on Tuesday, November 12th at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors.
