John L. Morrissey, a Fishkill resident since 2008 and formerly of Port Orange, FL and Harrison, NY, died at home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. He was 90.
Son of the late Maurice and Anna (Fanning) Morrissey, he was born in Newton, MA on March 20, 1924, one of seven siblings. Following his graduation from high school, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
For many years, he worked as a packing manager for Arnold Bread in Greenwich, CT. John was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and enjoyed many hobbies including playing cards, reading, and watching golf. He especially cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Glinski of Fishkill; and his grandsons, Ryan & Kevin Glinski of Fishkill; also many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, A. Marie Adams, in 2005; and his son-in-law, Steven Glinski, in 2007.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 30 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 1 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
