John Francis O'Keefe, 60, a 23 year resident of Dutchess County, formerly of Mahopac and Yorktown Heights, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan.
For his entire adult life, John worked as an Electrician for the I.B.E.W. Local #80. He was also an avid golfer.
Born in the Bronx on September 30, 1949, he was son of the late Patrick and Mary Kostrna O'Keefe. In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1971.
On September 7, 1985, John married Robin Rudolf in Putnam Lake. Mrs. O'Keefe survives at home.
Additional survivors include his children, Ivan O'Keefe of Florida, Erika Duncan & her husband Don of Georgia, Jennifer Harvey & her companion Clint of Florida, Casey O'Keefe & her fiancé Joe of Hopewell Junction, Amy Carollo of Pawling, and Adam Carollo & his wife Melissa of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Tiffany O'Keefe, Miranda O'Keefe, Amber Duncan, D.J. Duncan, Jennifer Duncan, Kaitlyn Green, Hayden McElreath, Kaitlin See, Jared Miller, and Noah Carollo; his siblings, Ann Barra & her husband Paul of Hopewell Junction, Maureen Magley & her husband Larry of Jefferson Valley, James O'Keefe & his wife Pam of Connecticut, Joseph O'Keefe of New Jersey, and Peggy Givens & her husband Tom of Arizona; his sister-in-law, Dorothy O'Keefe of Mahopac; also many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Patrick O'Keefe.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 29th at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30th, followed by interment with military honors at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction.
