John Thomas O'Shea, Jr., 65, an area resident for 20 years and formerly of Peekskill and the Bronx, died unexpectedly on March 3, 2024 at his home following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Manhattan on August 18, 1958, he was the son of the late John Thomas O'Shea, Sr. and Jean (Branigan) O'Shea. John worked in the banking industry for many years including Lehman Brothers in Manhattan before retiring.
John was a sports and music fanatic. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Bob Seger. He was sober for over 30 years and was a great sponsor and mentor to many.
John is survived by his daughters, Melanie O'Shea and Caitlin O'Shea; their mother, Arleen O'Shea; his brother, Michael O'Shea and his wife Cimara; and his nephews, Patrick and Matthew O'Shea.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Roue 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
