John Sapienza's Obituary
John Sapienza, 68, died suddenly on August 23, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. An area resident for 40 years, he formerly resided in Hawthorne.
Born in Yonkers on March 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Carmine and Ruth (Ackerman) Sapienza. John had been employed as a manager for Kent Supply Company in New Rochelle for 38 years until his retirement in 2017. He was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville.
On August 16, 1970 in Yonkers, John married the love of his life, Evelyn (Imbrogno), who predeceased him on October 31, 2017. John is survived by his children and their spouses, Michael Sapienza, Richard and Nicole Sapienza, and Gina and Joe Giangrasso; his grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mia, Alyssa, Angelina and Richard Jr. Sapienza, and Julianna, Vincent and Jenna Giangrasso; and his brothers, Joseph Sapienza and Thomas Sapienza.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
