John Segatti, a longtime resident of Stormville , NY, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old.
Born on January 1, 1940, in Prata , Italy, John was the beloved son of the late Paolo and Antoinette (Lisotto) Segatti. He came to the United States carrying with him a strong work ethic, deep faith, and a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship.
John worked for many years at Coastal Tile & Marble in White Plains, NY, where he was known as a skilled and dedicated tile setter who took great pride in his work. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he built, both professionally and personally.
On October 3, 1971, John married the love of his life, Ursula (Kolhosser), at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon, NY. Their marriage was one of devotion, partnership, and enduring love. Ursula predeceased him on May 5, 2025.
John was a longtime and active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill, where his faith guided his life and strengthened his sense of community.
In his leisure time, John found joy in traveling to Ogunquit, Maine, cooking for those he loved, and working with his hands. A master craftsman, especially in woodworking, had a gift for creating beautiful and lasting pieces that reflected both his skill and his heart.
John is survived by his sons John Segatti (Mandy) and Eric Segatti (Michele) along with four grandchildren: Brittney, Jonah (Miranda), Eliana and Gemma, three great grandchildren: Lilliana, Corneilus and Kaylie. He is also survived by his sisters: Maria Segat and Norma Mazza as well as many nieces and nephews.
John will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, devotion to family, and the many ways he built a life rooted in love, faith, and hard work.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4 - 8 pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A funeral service will take place on Saturday February 14, 2026 at 10 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill, NY 12524.
