BEEKMAN - John Paul Walker passed away on August 9, 2023 at the age of 69. He was a respected member of the community for over 41 years. He grew up in Shrub Oak, NY.

John was born on November 16, 1953, in Glen Cove, Long Island. He taught high school and middle school in the Lakeland School District for more than 25 years. Following retirement, he turned his love of Pachysandra into a successful business and continued his love of woodworking. He was also affectionately known as "The Turtle Man" because he enjoyed catching, raising and caring for turtles.

On August 21, 1982, John and Amy married in Garrison, New York and lived together in Hopewell Jct for over 40 years. He is survived by a son, Adam Walker married to Aysha Sanam, mother, Elaine Walker residing in North Carolina, and his uncle, James Riendeau. John's siblings include Ann Williams (Mike), James Walker, Joan Hinchman (Mark), Mary Watson (Joe), Matthew Walker (Michelle), and Gregory Walker (Christine). John is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

John is predeceased by his father, Robert Walker, and brother, David Walker.
