John was born on February 25, 1944 in Pottstown, PA. He attended the New York Military Academy and graduated in 1963. In 1964, he went to the University of Florida until 1965 when he joined the Marine Corps. He was a Captain in the Marines and a Vietnam Vet.

In 1972, he began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in the Law Enforcement Unit and retired after 32 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Jordan Hospital as Security and a group home helping adults with disabilities.

Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his family, friends, and playing Hearts with his granddaughters. John was a World War II History buff, NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed the Grand Tour bicycling races. Guns and classic cars were among his favorite past times. In his younger years, he rode his Harley to/from work all-year-round and ran 3 marathons, 2 in Boston and 1 in New York. He was generous with his love, time, support, and money. The Fourth of July and Harborfest were two of the things he looked forward to most. He was always smiling and sharing a silly story or joke. He was deeply loved and will be missed.
