NASHVILLE, MI - John D. Wright, 71, of Nashville, MI, passed away January 13, 2010 at his home. Born November 29, 1938 in Galt, Ontario, John was the son of John "Jack" Wright and Mary Kelliher Wright. The family moved to Beacon where John attended St. Joachim's and Beacon High School. During his lifetime, John worked as a police officer for the City of Beacon and as a corrections officer at Matteawan. John married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dill) of Ireland in 1972. Together John and Dorothy ran Donegal Manor Bed and Breakfast and Antique Shoppe in Warrensburg. John had many interests: good jokes, fine food, good friends, coin collecting, animals, fishing, flea markets, and antiques. John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, MaryLou Nastasi; and great grandson, A.J. Truncali. Surviving John is his loving wife of 37 years, Dorothy; daughter, Tara Thrasher and her husband Ryan of Lansing, MI; daughter, Wendy Biktjorn and her husband Gary of Hopewell Jct.; granddaughters, Elizabeth Zurawik of Newburgh and Jamie Truncali of Hopewell Jct.; sister, Shirley Baltich of Wappingers Falls; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren whom are located in New York, Canada, and Ireland. A gathering will commence at 1:00 pm and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
