POUGHQUAG - Jon M. Silveri , 66, an area resident for 20 years, died peacefully on July 7, 2025 at New York Presbyterian Westchester Hospital surrounded by love.

Though his body grew tired, his spirit remained strong until the very end. He left this world wrapped in love, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born in Mount Vernon on July 23, 1958, he was the son of Luigia ( Lerz ) Silveri and the late Angelo Silveri. Jon graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, the City College of New York and New York Law School.

Jon was a dedicated private practice attorney, known for his sharp mind and steady presence. Outside of the courtroom, he had a deep passion for judo, a sport that not only challenged his body but reflected his quiet strength, focus and discipline. When he wasn't on the mat, you could find him with a fishing pole in hand, soaking in the peace of the outdoors. Above all, Jon's life was grounded in love for his family - a love he showed through laughter, loyalty and endless encouragement. He never missed a chance to be on the sidelines, cheering on his kids at their sporting events - loud, proud and full of heart. These were more than hobbies but expressions of who he was: steady, supportive, joyful and devoted to his family.

Jon is survived by his wife, Flavia (Colon) Silveri; his mother, Luigia Silveri; his children, Jake, Angela and her husband David, and Jon Jr, along with three beloved grandchildren, Jon III, Kennedy and Luke.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10am- 1pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 1pm followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
