Fishkill- Joseph Batis, a longtime resident of Fishkill, NY passed away at home on May 31, 2025. He was 92 years old.

Joseph was born on July 17, 1932, in Bronx, NY the son of the late Alfred and Josephine (Betancourt) Batis.

From 1952-1955 he proudly served our country in the United States Army.

He then went on to begin his career in Corrections, working as a Corrections Officer at Down State Correctional Facility, Fishkill Correctional Facility, Sing Sing Correctional Facility and Camp Beacon before retiring.

Joseph was a longtime member of both the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and the Lost Wheels Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his loving children: Casey Mc Call, Christopher Batis, Liz Romero and Steven Batis, his two grandchildren: Gianna Russo and Patrick Fatzinger, his great-grandchildren: Carter Fatzinger and Mia Fatzinger, his siblings: Michael Batis, John Batis and Rae Batis; his adoring aide, Linda Biasi, along with many nieces and nephews.

Joseph is predeceased by his loving wife: Eileen, his daughter, Denise Batis and seven brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Monday, June 9, 2025, at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524 from 9am to 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 11:30am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. Interment to follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY 12524.
