Joseph A. Beneduce, 71, an area resident for 20 years and formerly of East Meadow, Long Island, died on December 7, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in New York City on March 28, 1945, he was the son of Leroy Sheldon and Caroline Beneduce. Joseph was employed by the City of New York, Department of Sanitation for 21 years until his retirement in 1990. He loved traveling, fishing and going to the movies, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

On July 1, 1967 at Holy Rosary Church, Joseph married Frances Ziegler who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Murphy and husband Peter of Poughkeepsie; his son, Joseph Beneduce of Staten Island; and his grandchildren, Kevin Matthews, Rianna Beneduce and Joseph Beneduce.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 5pm.
