Joseph J. Carpenter, 47, a resident of East Fishkill, died on January 2, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on February 17, 1973 in Carmel, Joseph was the son of Joseph Carpenter and Lois Nannariello Elshafey. Joseph graduated from Valhalla High School in 1991 and. Paul Smith College in Lake Placid in 1994.

Joseph worked for Con Edison in the Bronx for 19 years as a Land Surveyor Supervisor. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time with his children. He also enjoyed motorcycles and hunting. Joseph will always be remembered as a loving father, son, and brother. He always treated his friends like family.

Joseph is survived by his children, Amber and Ty Carpenter; his siblings, Ken Carpenter and his wife Nichole, Esra Elshafey, Emily Hakanson and her husband Stephen; his stepdad, Mahmoud Elshafey; and many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 12-3pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
