FISHKILL, NY - Joseph Patrick Conklin, a longtime resident of Fairfield, CT, and Palm City, FL, passed away on April 19, 2016. He was 90.
Born in Jersey City, NJ in 1926, Joseph graduated from Stamford High School, received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University and his M.S. from the University of Bridgeport.
Enjoying a long career at Pitney Bowes in Stamford, he was a two-time recipient of the Walter H. Wheeler Award and held many patents in his name.
He earned a Bronze Star as a SeaBee in the South Pacific during WWII, becoming an avid sailor and longtime member of Milford Yacht Club, where he served as Secretary and Commodore in the 1980s.
Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Ann Moynihan Conklin, he is survived by three daughters: Marcia Ann Conklin of Cheshire, CT, Kathleen and husband Arthur Jay Hibbs of Fishkill, NY and Maureen and husband Michael J. Repko of Southport, CT, as well as four grandchildren: Army Staff Sergeant Nicholas Joseph Hibbs, Amanda Hibbs Ferri, Rachel Ann Repko and Sarah Elizabeth Repko.
