Joseph F. Conti, a Florida resident since 2017 and former longtime resident of Fishkill, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at University Hospital & Medical Center in Tamarac, FL. He was 71.
Born and raised in the Bronx, he was born on September 16, 1949, son of the late Joseph and Loretta (Trachey) Conti.
Joseph began his 50-year banking career at Apple Bank and continued to work his way up eventually becoming the Senior Vice President of Lending at Israel Discount Bank, as well as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Orange County Trust, from where he retired in 2013.
He was an active community volunteer who belonged to many local organizations and non-profit groups such as Dutchess Outreach and the Vassar-Warner Home and he was the former President of the Fishkill Business Association. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where he served on the parish council. Joe also enjoyed watching sports and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan.
On October 11, 1975, he married Jeanne DiBenedetto at Good Shepherd Church in Manhattan. Jeanne survives at home in Tamarac, FL.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Laura M. Conti & her fiancé German Ruiz of Fishkill; his son, Joseph S. Conti & his wife Grace Conti of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Ryan, Hailey, Jackson, and Charlotte; as well as many other loving relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille Jefairjian as well as his brother, Frank Conti.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 28 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 29 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will be private.
