POUGHKEEPSIE- Joseph George DeMasi, 57, an area resident for over 20 years, died on August 20, 2024 at the Hudson Valley Hospice House.

He was born in Yonkers on September 19, 1966. Joe proudly served in the US Army during Operation Joint Endeavor. He had been employed as a lineman for Verizon in Mount Kisco.

Joe loved everything about motorcycles...building them, riding them, and repairing them. He was an avid collector of Transformers, having thousands of them on display at home. He also enjoyed visiting Disney World with his family.

Joe is survived by his son, Owen DeMasi; his mother, Veronica (Stanley) DeMasi; his brothers, Paul DeMasi and his wife Doreen, Mark DeMasi and his wife Sanae, and Steven DeMasi and his husband Michael Hilderbrand; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his son, George J. DeMasi in 2017; and his father, George DeMasi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 26, 2024 at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship at Arlington High School that was set up in memory of his son. Donations may be made payable to Arlington Education Foundation, 144 Todd Hill Road, LaGrangeville, NY 12540. Please reference "George DeMasi Scholarship" in the memo field.
