Poughquag- Joseph Harold Ellershaw a resident of Poughquag, NY passed away at home on July 4, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Those who loved him know he was so devoted to his family and had a great love of his country.
Joseph was born on February 7, 1944, in Brockton, MA, the son of the late Joseph and Lorena (Caruthers) Ellershaw.
On June 18, 1988, in Briarcliff Manor, NY he married Elizabeth "Betty" Degrazia. She survives at home.
Joe was the Assistant Vice President and Operations Manager for UBS Financial in Mt. Kisco, NY.
He enjoyed watching sports, old Western movies and reading, especially mysteries. His family and friends enjoyed his version of humor.
In addition to his wife Betty, Joseph is survived by his son Joseph Ellershaw and daughter Leslie Podolsky, his brother Raymond Clarke and his wife Pat, and nephew Michael Clarke.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY from 1 pm to 3 pm. A service will take place in the funeral home at 3 pm.
